Hello everyone! Sorry this post is late, my parents came to visit and it got a little busy! I am so excited that I could do a collab video with the wonderful Jess from Blind Girl Beauty! She has wonderful makeup tutorials but also takes time out of her usual makeup videos to talk about LGBT topics like gender, identity, and her experiences! Please click her photo to the right and go check her out! On Sunday we filmed a video on each of our channels that discusses femme invisibility and the experiences, if any, that we had! We created 10 questions that we proudly dubbed "THE FEMME INVISIBILITY TAG". |
The Femme Invisibility Tag
1. How do you self-identify within the LGBT community?
2. How did you know you'd want to be femme? Were you always femme, even before coming out?
3. What was your coming out experience like?
4. Was there a defining moment in your experience that stands out?
5. If you could say one thing to young people who have trouble coming out, what would you say?
6. What, if anything, do you wish would change about the perspective or attitude towards femmes within the LGBT community?
7. Have you experienced more or less negative experience from within the LGBT community compared to the straight/other communities?
8. How do you feel when someone says, "you look straight/ but you're so pretty"?
9. Do you really think there's a femme invisibility issue?
10. Because you are so feminine, do you feel like you end up "coming out" more than more masculine LGBT?
